In this show, Bridalplasty, a group of women compete for a “celebrity wedding.” They get to get married in the place of their dreams with the best flowers, best food, and the best people. Each time they compete the winner receives a plastic surgery of their choice. One soon to be bride is eliminated each week working their way up to be the best bride to receive the best wedding.

They say you should feel the most beautiful on your wedding day, but in the United States, shows like this one, prove that to be beautiful you have to be skinny. The object of this show is weddings and how important it is for a person’s wedding to be “perfect.” The subject of this show is the brides and how all of the pressure for weddings goes to them. That if the people seem to think there is something wrong with the wedding, it will be the brides fault.

This show relates to the article, “The body and reproduction of femininity” by Bordo, how woman are suppose to be beautiful and skinny. Women feel better about themselves and think that they are more socially acceptable if they look better. This shows empathizes the big breasts, small waist, and perfect face.

As an outside woman watching this show, it makes people think that they have to practice the same ideals as the women on this show. These women are young and have many opportunities for them. That women should all follow the same body practice, all women should be skinny and well fit for their wedding day. That they need to lose large amounts of weight to be able to fit into the small tight fitting dress.
