This kinda goes back to one of the conversations we had in class a couple of weeks ago about reading culture and the football game. I had further thoughts about it and with the past football games I really wondered about why people do the things they do. Not in particular their behaviors but more about the way they show their team pride.
Decked out in team colors from a simple jersey to the extreme tie-die wigs and painted chests. No matter what game you go to you always see people dressed in the team's colors and the people who aren't, are viewed as weird or unusual that something must be wrong with them because who shows up to game with nothing sport related on??!!
I can't deny that I am equally part of the fans that has gone full out for games but I can't really tell you why I do so. Culture shapes our bodies to (consciously or not) to get ready for games by putting on sport paraphernalia, the more the bigger of a fan you are. There's no real reason why other than to fit in with others and show off our pride by displaying unity. Culture has also made this concept that sport paraphernalia is part of a "fan's" docile body and has made it a common practice among game goers. You can be a fan or not but what you wear is you're body practice.
